This policy explains how HalfLight handles personal information when you browse the website, create an account, place an order, access a digital download, or request support.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when using account and checkout features, such as your name, email address, billing details, optional telephone number, account details, order history, and download records. If you contact us, we keep the information in your message and the details needed to respond.

The website and server also receive technical information needed to operate and protect the service, including IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, error information, and security logs.

How we use information

We use personal information to provide accounts, process and document orders, grant protected digital-download access, send transactional messages, answer support requests, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain website security, and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Where applicable, these activities rely on performing a contract, complying with law, protecting legitimate operational and security interests, or consent when consent is required.

Orders, accounts, and downloads

WooCommerce stores order details, customer details, account information, payment-method references, and download permissions in the website database. A digital-art purchase does not require a shipping process, and no physical item is shipped. Download activity may be recorded to enforce the stated access limit and expiry period.

Payments

No payment gateway is currently enabled on the website. If online payment is enabled later, the checkout will identify the available provider before an order is submitted. The information needed to authorize and support that payment may then be sent directly to that provider. HalfLight does not need to receive or store a complete payment-card number when payment is handled by an external payment processor. This policy must be reviewed when a gateway is enabled.

Cookies and local storage

HalfLight currently uses essential technologies needed for the website, cart, checkout, account sign-in, security, and language navigation. WooCommerce may set session cookies such as woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, and wp_woocommerce_session_* to remember cart contents and associate a browser with its cart session. WordPress uses login and preference cookies for signed-in users. These technologies are not used by HalfLight for targeted advertising.

No analytics or advertising service is currently enabled, and the public pages do not intentionally load third-party embedded media. If non-essential analytics, advertising, or embedded services are introduced, the cookie disclosure and any consent mechanism will be reviewed before activation.

Who receives information

Information is available only as needed to operate the website and fulfill a request. This may include the website hosting and infrastructure provider, WordPress and WooCommerce components running on the HalfLight server, a payment provider if one is later enabled and selected at checkout, and professional advisers or public authorities where disclosure is legally required. HalfLight does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose described above, including order support, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal recordkeeping. Account information may remain while an account is active. Some records may need to be retained after an erasure request where law or a legitimate security need requires it. Technical and organizational safeguards are used to limit unauthorized access, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of eligible personal information. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to identity verification and lawful retention requirements. WordPress provides verified export and erasure workflows that HalfLight can use when applicable.

To make a privacy request, use the Contact page or reply to an existing HalfLight order or account message. Include enough information to identify the relevant account or order, but do not send payment-card details.

Children

The website is not directed to children, and HalfLight does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact HalfLight so the situation can be reviewed.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the website, sales tools, or legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will remain available on this page.
